Wapadrand at a glance

Wapadrand is one of Pretoria East's well-established suburbs and lies along the northern foothill of the Bronberg Mountain. Most attractive is this area's undulating setting as well its natural growth with a climate suited to those who love to cultivate gardens of varying types. Wapadrand stand sizes are reasonable while properties consist mostly of free-standing houses, ranging from the older 80s style through to some beautifully modern homes.  Toward the east of Solomon Mahlangu Drive, one will find a few estates as Wapadrand tapers into the plot areas of Shere, while the western side of Wapadrand is slightly more built-up with mostly houses and then just a handful of townhouse complexes.  On this side Wapadrand is also well secured with only two entrances and exits, manned by a boom gate at either end.

There are some lovely options for first-time home-owners, families with children as well as persons considering retirement. Wapadrand is a quiet, secure and particularly tranquil area and it is also well located to the many amenities on offer in Pretoria East.  This includes a large selection of schools, office parks, shopping centres, medical facilities, entertainment and most of what both young and old would deem necessary for a secure and comfortable lifestyle. Wapadrand neighbours include Olympus, Faerie Glen, Equestria, The Willows, Lynnwood, Silverlakes and Shere.

CLIMATE:

During the months of September through to April, Wapadrand enjoys a subtropical, warm summer climate with hot summer days, warm evenings and summer rains.  Winters are shorter and dry, generally comfortable but with a few scattered and intensely cold snaps in between. Wapadrand enjoys some protection from lying right against the northern slope of the Bronberg Mountain and is particularly green, naturally tranquil and cool under a canopy of beautiful natural growth, stretching from the mountain through to its suburban gardens.

DISTANCE FROM WAPADRAND TO PRETORIA'S CBD:

• Via the N4: 28 minutes / 23 kms
• Via Solomon Mahlangu Dr / M10: 29 minutes / 23 kms
• Via Lynnwood Rd / M6 and N4: 30 minutes / 21 kms
• Distances are approximate and drive times during normal traffic. 

MAIN ACCESS ROUTES:

Wapadrand enjoys direct access both onto Lynnwood Road and Solomon Mahlangu Drive.  Lynnwood travels westwards toward Pretoria and is also an access road to the N1 highway.  Solomon Mahlangu crosses Lynnwood if travelling in a northerly direction or Atterbury Road if travelling south.  It also leads to both the N4 and N1 highways.  Wapadrand is located only a few minutes' drive from these throughfares and highways.
