Faerie Glen at a glance

Faerie Glen, the flagship suburb of Pretoria East, was established in the early 1970s and although it may now classify as an older suburb it has been beautifully maintained throughout. It is few and far between that one will find an unkempt property or open piece of land. Rather streets are lined with manicured sidewalks, much greenery and mature trees, with a special display of Jacarandas when in bloom. Faerie Glen's most prominent landmark is surely the Bronberg Mountain, a conservation area, with her southern slope in full view as she rises in the background and it is this mountain slope that also contributes to Faerie Glen's natural side.

As a suburb, Faerie Glen hosts very little within, in terms of entertainment, so streets are particularly neat and quiet and are much enjoyed by residents taking a stroll, running or cycling. Properties are generally fairly large and the same with its houses, with a good blend of 80's into more modern styled designs, free standing homes as well as townhouse complexes. Houses are larger while complexes vary in size, some of which are quite impressive and others really quaint and cosy as they are nestled along the green belts and within the valleys of Faerie Glen. What's more is that there is practically no space left for new developments which means little to no hindrances from building sites and activities.

While Faerie Glen oozes quiet comfort it is incredibly well located to all of the amenities, entertainment and attractions that the greater Pretoria East has to offer.

CLIMATE:

Faerie Glen shares the subtropical climate which spreads itself throughout Pretoria East and in fact most of Tshwane. This means warm to hot days, summer rainfalls and fairly cold winter mornings, which much of the time turns into warm afternoons and cooler evenings again. However, Faerie Glen also enjoys the shelter offered by the Bronberg mountain range against wind and frost and enjoys great water movement during rainy seasons as well as a full day's uninterrupted sun.

MAIN ACCESS ROUTES:

Atterbury which is the main road leading to Faerie Glen is located on the southern border of the suburb and leads to the N1 while Solomon Mahlangu is located on its eastern border and leads toward the N4 highway. Both these main roads and highways are within a mere few minutes reach, depending on traffic.
